Earthly Technologies, a Redwood City, Calif.-based new company creating software build tooling for the post-container era, closed a $2m seed funding round.
The round was led by 468 Capital, joined by Uncorrelated Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, Hack VC and a number of founders of high-profile developer platforms, including DataDog, Digital Ocean, Cockroach Labs, Instana, Sentry.io and Envoy Proxy.
Led by Vlad A. Ionescu, founder and CEO, Earthly Technologies provides a build automation tool for the post-container era. It allows users to execute builds in containers and make them self-contained, reproducible, portable and parallel. Earthly is used to create Docker images and regular artifacts (binaries, packages, arbitrary files).
The company is working on upcoming cloud-based features like shared caching and highly parallel execution in a cluster.
