Pillar, a NYC-based startup that helps families protect and care for their loved ones, raised $1.5M in a seed extension.
The round was led by Kleiner Perkins, which totalled $7m for a seed round.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach.
Pillar lets people organize and store all their family’s most important information like medical records, legal documents, and financial accounts online so their family members have access to everything they need if the unexpected happens. In addition, the platform provides personalized guidance on what to do as loved ones get older; secure collaboration with trusted family members & other caregivers; and fraud monitoring tools to prevent common scams & financial elder abuse.
