Cooper, an Amsterdam, The Netherlands-based private professional network, raised $2m in seed funding.
The round was led by Comcast Ventures with participation from LocalGlobe, 468 Capital, and Combine, along with angel investors.
The company plans to use the funds to expand its team and grow its presence in the US and Europe.
Founded by Robert Gaal and Emiel van Liere, Cooper is building a professional network fostering meaningful connections by enabling anyone to get quality introductions from the people they trust.
The app allows people to curate their inner circle. They can invite the people they have met by connecting Cooper to their calendar, or by sharing a personal invite code. People then post their request for advice, ways to help, opportunities, team members, freelancers, leads, companies, investors, or partners. Anyone in the network, or friends of friends, can reply with an introduction to someone they think can help. Once they have accepted, they can instantly introduce people with a message on Cooper or over email.
The app is available for free on iOS and Android.
