Aiko, a Turin, Italy-based startup that develops Artificial Intelligence software for the automation of space missions, closed €1.5M venture capital funding round.
The round was led by Primo Space Fund, the investment fund active in space economy managed by Primomiglio SGR S.p.A.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its development efforts.
Founded by Lorenzo Feruglio, Giorgio Albano and Loris Franchi, Aiko develops Artificial Intelligence software for the automation of space missions. The software can be used for both applications on board satellites and on the ground in the mission control centres, aimed in particular at the automation of operations, at the support of operators and at advanced mission autonomy.
In addition to the funding, Raffaele Mauro joined the management team alongside Matteo Cascinari and Giorgio Minola. Primo Space invested after Geminea s.r.l., holding company focused on startups operating in the area of Artificial Intelligence which first invested in Aiko back in 2019.
