Segmed, a Stanford, Calif.-based cloud platform that curates medical data by anonymizing, standardizing and labeling, to accelerate innovation in healthcare, closed $2m in seed funding.
The round was led by Blumberg Capital with participation from Nina Capital and other angel investors.
Led by Cailin Hardell, co-founder and CEO, Segmed is a secure cloud-based platform that provides high quality data for medical AI development. By partnering with diverse healthcare providers around the world, standardizing and indexing medical data via a sequence of proprietary algorithms, and allowing companies to build customized datasets, Segmed is a shop for rapid, low cost data aggregation and standardization.
The company maintains strict HIPAA compliance and only uses and shares data that is fully anonymized, ensuring that no personal information is ever exposed.
