Weaveworks, Inc., a London, UK-based GitOps-powered Kubernetes platform provider, raised $36.65m in Series C funding round.
Backers included Amazon Web Services (AWS), Ericsson, Orange Ventures, SonaeIM and Telekom Investment Pool (TIP) and follow-on investors Accel, GV, and Redline Capital.
The company, which has raised a total of $60m to date, will use the capital to enhance its platform and accelerate market expansion.
Led by Alexis Richardson, CEO, Weaveworks provides teams with a platform to adopt cloud native computing, managing cloud native infrastructure and applications quickly and at scale. The company helps infrastructure and platform teams build and operate their own Kubernetes application platform whether in the cloud, at the edge, or on-premise.
Weave Kubernetes Platform is an automated Git-based configuration management system which allows operations teams to control, secure and audit Kubernetes clusters configuration automating the rollout of a standardized self-service platform. Development teams then use GitOps to manage the full lifecycle of their applications, with guardrails in place to increase velocity and accelerate innovation for cloud, hybrid and edge deployments.
The platform is built on open source and designed to work alongside Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), further simplifying the adoption of Kubernetes on AWS.
