Bear Flag Robotics, a Newark, Calif.-based agtech company, raised $7.9m in seed extension funding round.
The round, which brought total funding raised to date to $12.5m, was led by True Ventures with participation from Graphene Ventures, AgFunder, D20 and Green Cow VC.
Co-Founded by Igino Cafiero and Aubrey Donnellan in 2017, Bear Flag Robotics is developing autonomous technology for farm tractors, which enables growers to increase productivity and improve safety on their farms. While the tractors run autonomously, human supervisors use the software to monitor and command their fleet from a remote mission control room or personal device. The software plans optimal field patterns based on growers’ implements, and provides predictive and post-run analytics that enable growers to farm better each season.
Bear Flag Robotics is currently working with the largest produce and commodity growers in California and Arizona.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.
