Biomicrogel Group, an Oxford, UK-based environmental biotech company advancing technology for cleaning water and hard surfaces, raised $13M in funding.
Swiss investor Gregory Berenstein led the round.
The company intends to use the funds to grow into the international market, expanding the product line, and increasing production capacity.
Led by Andrey Elagin, Founder and Managing Partner, Biomicrogel Group has developed innovative technology for cleaning water and hard surfaces from any type of oil, petroleum products, and integrated pollutions. Now, the company develops environmentally friendly products used in various areas: it cleans industrial wastewater from oils and petroleum products, eliminates oil spills, increases oil extraction, and produces environmentally friendly home care products under the WONDER LAB brand.
WONDER LAB products are already sold in major chain stores throughout Russia.
The group has more than 80 patents in 62 countries, including the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. Biomicrogel Group employs more than 100 people, has four chemical laboratories and two production facilities. In 2020, the company opened representative offices in Europe and Southeast Asia to launch operations in these markets. It’s also planning to launch a new production facility in Europe.
