Glosslab, a NYC-based hygiene-first, membership nail studio operator, raised $4m in funding.
This brings total funding to over $7m having raised $3m in December 2020.
New backers included Alex Pall and Drew Taggart, Mark Sanchez, Marie Von Behrens, Michael Dubin, Amar’e Stoudemire, Jeff Frommer, Louis Krubich, Dan Fried, Jared Goff, Jarrod Moses, Wilton Speight, Jim Huether, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Shmuel Gniwisch and Elias Davis.
The company intends to use the funds to open new locations, including two locations on the Upper East Side and NoHo (to go along with existing Tribeca, Flatiron and West Village locations) and first suburban location in Westport, CT.
Led by Founder Rachel Apfel, Glosslab aims to modernize the nail salon experience with its hygiene-first, membership-based concept. The salon features technology-enhanced services (online booking, cashless payment, contactless check-in and check-out) and performance-based products at the forefront of beauty and nail trends including vegan polish, gel, and non-toxic polishes.
The company currently has 1,000+ members.
