GoStudent, a Vienna, Austria-based edtech company, raised €205M in Series C Funding at €1.4 Billion valuation.
The round was led by new investor DST Global with participation from new investors SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Tencent, Dragoneer and existing investors Coatue, Left Lane Capital and DN Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to further develop its presence in Europe, expand overseas, launching in Mexico and Canada this summer, and invest in branding, product development and first acquisitions.
Founded in Vienna in 2016 by Felix Ohswald (CEO) and Gregor Müller (COO), GoStudent is a platform for online teaching operational in 15 markets. Via its platform, the company provides paid, one-to-one, video-based tuition to primary, secondary and college-aged students in 20+ subjects, using a membership model. GoStudent employs more than 500 people, works with 5,500 tutors and has opened 12 international offices. Over 400,000 tutoring units are booked each month.
