Functionize, a Walnut Creek, Calif.-based creator of an AI-powered testing platform, received a strategic investment led by Wipro Ventures.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed. This strategic investment comes after the company’s $16m series A in 2019 led by Gary Little, with Wipro Ventures joining follow-on investments from John Mumford, founder of Crosspoint Capital Partners, among others.
The company intends to use the funds to strengthen its proprietary AI technology.
Led by newly appinted CEO Gary Messiana, Functionize provides an AI-powered test automation platform offering features, such as SmartFix, Self Heal and Live Debug, and reconnecting product teams, developers and quality engineers by enabling them to participate in the testing process.
Founder Tamas Cser will transition the role of CTO to focus on building and advancing the product. Since officially launching its cloud-based autonomous testing platform in 2015, the company has increased its employee base to over 100 employees.
