Turquoise Health, a San Diego, CA-based healthcare price transparency and provider-payer contract negotiation platform that generates cost certainty for patients, closed a $5m seed funding round.
The round was led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), with participation from Bessemer Venture Partners, Box Group, individual investors Henry Ward, Megan Callahan, Jonathan Bush, and NBA Champion Klay Thompson.
The company will use the funds to expand operations and product development efforts.
Launched in 2020 and led by CEO Chris Severn and CTO Adam Geitgey, Turquoise Health aims to simplify healthcare reimbursement through price transparency by inviting providers and payers to become verified partners. Using the software suite, organizations create “price certainty” for patients while claims adjudication on the back end. Turquoise already counts major revenue cycle partners, payers and hospital systems as clients.
