Dovetail, a Sydney, Australia-based software company that enables teams to improve the decision making process through deep customer understanding, raised $5m AUD in funding.
The round was led by Felicis Ventures, with participation from Blackbird Ventures, Grok Ventures and Didier Elzinga, CEO of Culture Amp.
The company intends to use the funds to further scale the reach of its customer research platform.
Founded in 2017 by two ex-Atlassians, Benjamin Humphrey and Bradley Ayers, Dovetail provides a platform that enables organizations to make sense of all their customer research data in a collaborative, and searchable research repository. The company also launched its latest feature, Stories, to save, curate and remix research findings and various data sources within the platform. Others updates include customization options, particularly for admins who control the user experience. On top of its Zoom integration, Dovetail has now added an integration with Google Drive.
The company has 1,500+ paying customers and 35,000+ users, from small design agencies to universities to Fortune 100 companies. Customers include Datadog, GitLab, Harvard University, IBM, Nielsen Norman Group, Wiley, Boston Consulting Group, Canva, Cisco, Deloitte, Maersk, Mastercard, Shopify, Square, VMware and more.
