Moesif, a San Francisco, CA-based provider of product insights into how customers use their APIs and tooling to build developer experiences, raised $12m in Series A funding.
The round was led by David Sacks and Arra Malekzadeh of Craft Ventures, the latter of whom will join Moesif’s board, with participation from previous investor Merus Capital.
The company, which has raised $15.5m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to hire across engineering, sales, developer relations, and customer success.
Founded in 2017 by Derric Gilling and Xing Wang, Moesif provides a platform for product owners to measure complex activation funnels (like the time that it took for developers to sign up and make their first API call) or proactively reach out when a customer is struggling with the API. The company also opened its platform to 3rd party developers to build custom API reports and workflows to support API users.
Customers span financial, healthtech, logistics and enterprise software and include both startups like Tomorrow.io and Symbl.ai as well as large enterprises like Deloitte and UPS. Using Moesif,
The company is partnered with API management vendors providing plugins for Kong, f5 NGINX, Tyk, Amazon API Gateway, Microsoft Azure APIM, among others, which enables developers to deploy Moesif to production quickly.
