Vera, a Hong Kong-based non-fungible token (NFT) decentralized finance (DeFi) blockchain platform, raised $3M in seed funding.
The round was led by Animoca Brands with participation from OKEx Block Dream Fund, Genesis Block Ventures, Krypital Group, Shima Capital, SL2 Capital, Mozaik Capital, Sentor Investments and Sandbar Investments.
The company intends to use the funds for product development, secure and audit its smart contracts, and expand its ecosystem into several upcoming major NFT games and metaverse ecosystems.
Led by Denis Lam, CEO, Vera provides decentralized financing, leasing, lending, and other essential financial services for any NFT marketplace, game, or application. With early grant backing from Web3 Foundation—founded by Dr. Gavin Wood, the founder of Polkadot blockchain—the company developed its initial technologies on Substrate and supports NFT applications and games built on any blockchain such as Ethereum, Solana, Polygon, and Binance Smart Chain.
