Amai, a San Francisco, CA-based company that creates ultra-realistic AI Voice Engines, raised $600k in funding.
Backers included Joint Journey, and NRG Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to enter the US voice market, launch new AI voice solutions for enterprises, and enhance products’ capacity.
Founded in 2019 by two entrepreneurs Pavel Osokin and Maxim Baluev, Amai offers alternative voiceover products to those offered by Google, Amazon, and IBM, focusing on enhancing the quality of synthetic voice and developing solutions that address privacy concerns. Its products are specifically designed for enterprise businesses to help them optimize operations and reduce their reliance on human resources. Its text-to-speech technology can be used in a variety of applications, including such as gaming, call centeres, banking, digital assistance, podcasts, audiobooks.
Amai’s voice synthesis based on deep learning runs on central-process-unit (CPU) and graphic-process-unit (GPU), with a response time of less than 200ms. It allowed the company to develop an AI voice that 97% of users could not discern from real human speech.
