Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX), a media service and original programming production company, acquired Night School Studio, a gaming development studio based in Los Angeles.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The acquisition will enable the entertainment streming giant to build out its creative capabilities and gaming library together and continue to create gaming experiences for its members around the world.
Founded by Sean Krankel and Adam Hines in 2014, Night School Studio is known for their critically acclaimed debut game, OXENFREE.
According to a written note, the company will also continue working with developers around the world and hiring talent to deliver a large collection of exclusive games designed for every kind of gamer and any level of play. Like shows and films, these games will all be included as part of the Netflix membership — all with no ads and no in-app purchases.
