Alpha Paw, an Austin, Texas-based maker of a pet food and wellness line, raised $8 million in Series A funding.
The round was led by Nordic Eye.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand its product line launching a line of wellness subscription boxes, and acquire other pet brands.
Co-founded by father-son entrepreneur duo Ramon and Victor van Meer, Alpha Paw offers a catalog of curated, breed-specific, pet products, designed by experts and certified veterinary professionals, ensuring everything on the site adheres to the highest industry standards. The catalog includes health indicator Genius Litter, dog supplements, and dog ramp PawRamp.
For every product purchased, the company donates meals to shelter dogs across the country. They also launched its own charitable foundation, The Alpha Paw Foundation, which partners with local and national non-profits and shelters and hosts donation drives and adoption events.
