Electives, a Boston MA-based education and engagement platform, raised $2.25M in Seed funding.

The round was led by Boston Seed Capital and Accomplice with participation from Bertelsmann Media and Jerod Mayo.

The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and development in the workplace.

Led by Jason Lavender, CEO, and Krikor Dzeronian, CTO, Electives provides learning and development classes taught by professionals across a variety of professions; including psychologists, pro athletes, top professors, and more. The company also provides customized DE&I courses and follows up with additional content after each course to increase retention and engagement with the material.

Electives curates and matches a unique faculty of instructors for employer partners based on shared data. Teachers available on the platform include former FBI agents, top business school professors, Broadway performers, improv comedians, professional athletes, and more. The class topics range from Manager Training, Implicit Bias, Leadership Development, Storytelling, Gender Identity, and Cultural History.
