US-based cryptocurrency trading platform Coinbase (NASDAQ: COIN) is to acquire Agara, an Indian AI-powered customer support platform.
The amount of the deal – subject to customary closing conditions and expected to close later this year – was not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Coinbase will enhance the customer experience with machine learning technology and expertise.
The company will use Agara’s AI resources to reinforce its commitment to improve customer support, bring deep expertise in machine learning, and reconfirm its strategy to expand its tech hub in India. In addition to technology, the Agara team brings deep expertise in ML and NLP to Coinbase and will augment our existing product, engineering, and data teams.
Founded in June of 2012, Coinbase is a digital currency wallet and platform where merchants and consumers can transact with new digital currencies like bitcoin, ethereum, and litecoin.
