GrubMarket, a San Francisco-based food technology company, raised $200m in Series E funding.
Backers included Tiger Global Management, funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, Liberty Street Funds, Apeira Capital, Japan Post Capital, Celtic House Asia Partners, We Capital and Walleye Capital, among other unnamed participants. This round values GrubMarket at over $1.2 billion.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach, with plans to grow to the U.S., Canada, and other parts of the world.
Led by Mike Xu, CEO, GrubMarket is a food technology company operating in the space of food supply chain eCommerce for both business customers and end consumers, as well as providing related software-as-a-service solutions to digitally transform the American food supply chain. Currently, GrubMarket operates in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Michigan, New York, New Jersey, Missouri, Massachusetts, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington and British Columbia (Canada).
