Macai, a Milan, Italy online grocery delivery platform, raised $3M in Pre-seed funding.
The round was led by Lumen Ventures, with participation from Plug and Play Ventures, and Cats.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and its business reach in the largest Italian cities and later in the rest of Europe.
Led by Giovanni Cavallo, CEO and Co-founder, Macai is a full grocer in the q-commerce space, with an offering of 7,500 products and a quick delivery service, which leverages dark stores, which are intelligent warehouses located in the city centers.
The delivery is made by electric bicycles and scooters.
The company currently is present in Milan and Turin with new openings scheduled asap.
