Mosaic Building Group, a Phoenix, AZ-based construction technology company, raised $44m in Series B funding.
Backers included Peak State Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Founders Fund, Innovation Endeavors, and Building Ventures, among others.
The company, which has raised $68.75m in total funding to date, intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations, recruiting engineering, product, back office, construction, and project management roles, and and expand from Flagstaff and Prescott into Phoenix and Tucson, where Rod Horn joined as Senior Project Manager. Horn, who will be based out of Mosaic’s new Phoenix office, joins Mosaic from Arizona-based build-to-rent residential builder Hancock Builders. He previously worked for homebuilding company Shea Homes as a production manager responsible for the construction of more than 2,000 homes in Arizona during his tenure.
Led by Salman Ahmad, co-founder and CEO, Mosaic is building a software platform and a team serving as a tech-enabled general contractor for production-scale residential development projects. The company manages construction infrastructure, allowing real estate developers to focus on the value-driving components of their core business, such as land acquisition, sales and marketing, and architecture.
