BandLab, a Singapore-based social music creation platform, raised US$53m in funding.
The round, which results in a post-money valuation of US$303m, was led by Vulcan Capital with participation from K3 Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its team and its platform to stimulate the creator economy and reach music creators worldwide.
Led by CEO & Co-Founder Meng Ru Kuok, BandLab is a free, cross-platform music creator ecosystem that supports anyone, anywhere, on any device. The platform supports creators of all kinds of sophistication levels, from first-time creators to producers, much as workplace productivity tools support businesses large and small. Its cross-platform creative ecosystem offers users everything from their Mix Editor to a comprehensive royalty-free Sounds library, as well as Mastering, newly announced AI-powered SongStarter and more. Beyond creation tools, artist services like Distribution and direct fan subscriptions empower the creator economy, and the upcoming integration of recently acquired leading independent artist services platform ReverbNation into BandLab will further expand the suite of services available to independent artists.
BandLab is the flagship product of BandLab Technologies, which also includes professional-level digital audio workstation, Cakewalk.
