Blue Lava, a Manlo Park, CA-based creator of a security program management platform built by and for chief information security officers (CISOs), raised an additional $7.5M in Series A funding.

This round, which brought the total funding raised in Series A funding to $25M, was led by Crosslink Capital with contribution from existing majority investors Rally Ventures and ClearSky Security.

The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations (hiring for its sales, marketing, and engineering teams) and its business reach, as well as to advance its development efforts.

Founded in 2018 and led by CEO David Walter, Blue Lava provides security program management solutions that are designed to allow CISOs to measure, optimize, and communicate the business value of their cybersecurity program to the board and C-suite executives. The platform combines on-demand maturity assessments, peer benchmarking and security strategy and roadmap planning to win budget approval for security investments and monitor progress towards a more mature security organization.
