Privacy is a top priority for all of us. Whether it’s home, a workspace, or any outdoor setting, we would always want to be secure and free of mind. Its importance knows no bounds and ever since the world experienced a pandemic, its significance has immensely grown.
The work-from-home model is still quite rampant and for remote workers, security is essential. While we all know how a VPN for the web gained popularity, Windows decided to match up to its pace and introduce a revolutionary client operating system, focusing on security by coming up with Windows 11. On Microsoft’s insistence, they introduced a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) 2.0 built into the motherboard for a Windows 11 upgrade and is evidence enough of how every company is dealing with security measures with its latest operating system.
Even though Windows 11 is built on the same foundation as Windows 10, it includes some exquisite features that organizations should know about. For Windows 10 users, Windows 11 is a natural transition and offers what most users are already familiar with. It is specially designed keeping in my today’s hybrid work environment and offers innovations primarily enhancing end-user productivity. Many of the same security settings and policies can be applied to Windows 11 devices, including PCs.
Windows 11 offers a TPM 2.0 feature that essentially verifies user identities and protects the user from data attacks. Among other things, TPM makes it much harder for someone to gain access to Windows if he/she isn’t using it.

Let’s delve a little deeper into what Windows 11 has to offer.
1. Keep Windows 11 updated at all times
If you’re careful about keeping your security top-notch, you’ll have to begin by keeping your software updated. Selecting Windows Update from the setting helps your system get all the latest patches and bug fixes applied to the operating system. The advanced option and active hours make sure your Windows isn’t going to restart in the middle of your task, applying updates to your system when you’re in between work.
2. Check your login
There are various ways you can log into your computer. You can start off by selecting your name at the top left of the settings panel and opening the sign-in option. Facial recognition using your webcam is one way to go about it or Fingerprint recognition using a fingerprint sensor. These two are way more secure than a password and these days, most modern computer systems support such features.
3. Sign out when you’re away from your system
Windows has made it much smarter and easier for you to not sign in again if you’re away as opposed to logging in every time. The dynamic lock option allows you to tell Windows to lock your device when you move away from it as indicated by the location in your smartphone.
4. Stay secure while you’re online
Windows 11 is always on the lookout for any suspicious activity that occurs within your system, be it the applications performing badly or internal troubleshooting. All you have to do is enable two settings on your app and browser control from the Windows security utility – reputation-based protection detects any alarming activity that takes place and exploit protection helps reduce the intensity of any remote hacking attacks.

5. Check out device security
Any hardware problems with your Windows 11 computer will be listed on the device security page after you have opened the Windows security tool. These problems include TPM and its secure boot process. What happens is that it lists the problems and takes immediate steps to secure the operating system with all the data stored on it.
6. Make sure your device can be found once lost
Losing a device can be quite problematic but Windows 11 just made things easier for its users. All you are required to do is click the privacy and security tab under settings, choose the find my device option to have its location periodically recorded. This enables you to log into your Microsoft account on another device and find out where your lost Windows 11 computer has gone. This feature comes in handy if you’ve left it behind on a train or at a location you can’t remember.
7. Encrypt data on your device
Encrypting the data on your hard drive makes it difficult for someone else to break into your system and extract information. Not every system gives you that option but if yours does, you can enable the feature by going to the privacy and security tab and choosing device encryption from the Windows 11 setting screen. This will protect your data and save you from the needless headache.
