Canonic Security, a Tel Aviv, Israel-based cybersecurity startup protecting SaaS business applications, emerged from stealth with $6m in seed funding.

Backers included First Round Capital, Elron Ventures, SV Angel and Operator Partners.

The investment accelerates the product’s go-to-market and development initiatives, which are already in full-force with over twenty deployments worldwide.

Led by CEO Boris Gorin and CTO Niv Steingarten, Canonic Security is a SaaS Application Security platform that continuously profiles apps and user accounts, identifies suspicious or out-of-policy behavior, and automatically reduces the SaaS attack surface. The platform provides access intelligence and vulnerability insight, detects SaaS-native threats, and helps security teams respond quickly. Canonic automatically maps business applications’ interconnectivity, uncovering harmful, vulnerable, or overprivileged apps and integrations to reduce the risks involved with third-party API access.
