Zero Acre Farms, a San Mateo, CA-based food company focused on healthy, sustainable oils and fats, raised $37M in funding.
The round, which brought total funding to date to $37m, was led by Lowercarbon Capital and Fifty Years, with participation from S2G Ventures, Virgin Group, Collaborative Fund, Robert Downey Jr.’s FootPrint Coalition Ventures, and Chef Dan Barber.
The company intends to use the funds to expand operations, products and growth.
Led by CEO Jeff Nobbs, Zero Acre Farms aims to end the food industry’s dependence on destructive vegetable oils through sustainable oils and fats, made by fermentation, not deforestation.
