The Mothership, a London, UK-based eCommerce acquisition and development company, raised $22M in funding.
Backers included Glenn Elliott, founder of Reward Gateway and now part of Tenzing Private Equity, Jonathan Quin, founder of payments business World First, Adrian Thompson, CEO of Aspen Pumps, Simon Morrish, who has founded and grown several successful businesses, including Ground Control; and Giles Palmer, founder of BrandWatch.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its portfolio of sustainable brands.
Led by Ben Fletcher, CEO The Mothership is a multichannel eCommerce platform which specializes in acquiring, or partnering with, consumer product companies selling online. The platform allows its portfolio companies to grow through expansion of their product catalogues and a multi-channel cross-sell approach to audience building.
Amongst the companies already acquired by The Mothership is TCU Trading, owner of two brands, Pluvios and Case4Life.
