Rapyuta Robotics, a Tokyo, Japan-based provider of collaborative pick-assist robots (Rapyuta PA-AMR), or warehouse robots, raised USD51M in Series C funding.
The round was led by Goldman Sachs.
The company intends to use the funds for recruitment and development of the its pick assist robot, partner training, research and development, and increased awareness of autonomous mobile robots and their usage in the logistics industry.
Led by CEO Gajan Mohanarajah, Ph.D., Rapyuta Robotics develops collaborative pick-assist robots, or warehouse robots, and is advancing Cloud Robotics. its cloud robotics platform, rapyuta.io, utilizes advanced control and artificial intelligence technologies to improve the efficiency and safety of warehouse operations, enable multiple robots to work harmoniously together, and create a remote-controlled, robot ecosystem.
The company is a Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) spin-off.
