Just Women’s Sports, a Los Angeles, CA-based media platform dedicated exclusively to women’s sports, raised $6M in funding.
The round was led by Blue Pool Capital, Joe Tsai’s family office, with participation from Billie Jean King, Michele Kang, Bolt Ventures, David Blitzer, SC Holdings, Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, Muse Capital and Dapper Labs, and other institutional and angel investors. New additions to its roster of athlete investors include Allyson Felix, Abby Wambach, Sam Kerr, Lynn Williams, Paul Rabil and Apolo Ohno, among others. They join previous athlete investors Kelley O’Hara, Elena Delle Donne, Hilary Knight, Arike Ogunbowale and Sam Mewis. JWS previously raised $3.5 million in May 2021. Returning investors include Will Ventures, Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s Thirty Five Ventures, OVO Fund, Supernode Global and Drive by DraftKings.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations, content offerings and business reach.
Led by CEO Haley Rosen, Just Women’s Sports is a media platform dedicated exclusively to women’s sports working through original podcast series, premium video programming, social media, online editorial content, a newsletter, and exclusive merchandise and live events. From its inception, the company has prioritized supporting and partnering with the athlete community.
To date, Just Women’s Sports has worked with more than 20 of the world’s biggest brands, including Nike, Puma, Under Armour, Heineken, Cisco and DICK’s Sporting Goods.
