Symbrosia, a Kailua-Kona, HI-based startup advancing a seaweed feed additive that reduces livestock methane emissions, raised $7M in Series A funding.
The round was led by Danone Manifesto Ventures, with participation from Pacific6, HATCH, Presidio Ventures, Kamehameha Schools and Mana Up.
The company intends to use the funds to scale production of its seaweed strains and bring their livestock feed additive, SeaGraze, to market with innovative brands and producers.
Led by CEO Alexia Akbay, Symbrosia breeds and cultivates seaweed strains and develops them into high-value products. The company has developed SeaGraze, a natural seaweed feed additive that reduces livestock methane emissions.
