FlexGen Power Systems, Inc. , a Durham, NC-based integration services and software technology platform for energy storage solutions, raised $100M in Series C funding.
The round was led by Vitol.
The company intends to use the funds to further solidifies its energy storage integration, and will support the execution of its large pipeline of projects across multiple regions.
Led by CEO Kelcy Pegler, FlexGen designs and integrates storage solutions and the software platform that is enabling today’s energy transition. Its proprietary energy management software platform, HybridOS, allows energy storage owners to deploy various power market strategies and combine storage solutions with any form of generation. The integration of energy storage requires software and technological solutions that play a critical role in the adoption of renewables at scale—offsetting the intermittency and reliability challenges that renewable power generation creates for the grid. Since its founding in 2009, the company has installed over 3 GWh of energy storage systems across the U.S. for utility, microgrid, and C&I customers.
