PatternAg, Inc., an Emeryville, CA-based agri tech company, raised $35M in funding.
The round was led by Conti Ventures, with participation from Bidra Innovations, The Production Board, Valor Capital Group, Founders Fund, iSelect, LAUNCH and Ospraie Ag Sciences. In conjunction with the funding, Chris Abbott, Co-Head of Conti Ventures, joined the Pattern Board of Directors.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand operations.
Founded in 2018 and led by CEO Rob Hranac, Pattern provides a metagenomics platform that gives data-driven, evidence-based, long-term predictions about crop risks and nutrient deficiencies at scale in row crops. The system uses genomic sequencing to provide predictions about next season’s pest, disease, and fertility risks to crops. These predictions increase farmer profitability, allowing them to leverage soil biology and reduce reliance on traditional, industrial crop chemistry inputs.
The company’s corporate office is headquartered in Emeryville, CA, with field teams located throughout the Midwest.
