Ori, a Boston/NY- based startup that aims to transform urban living by using robotics to create multi-functional, expandable apartments, recently closed round of equity financing.

Presidio Ventures, a Sumitomo Corporation of Americas (“SCOA”) Group Company, joined existing investors Khosla Ventures, Alphabet, Ingka Investments (of the IKEA Group) and Geolo Capital, as well as South Korean conglomerate, Eugene Group.

The company intends to use the funds for expansion in the APAC market.

Born out of the MIT Media Lab and led by Hasier Larrea, CEO, Ori uses architectural robotics to create expandable apartments and other living spaces, which are more flexible, sustainable, affordable than conventional apartments and empower people to live the way they want to live.
