Fox Robotics, an Austin, TX-based autonomous forklift company, raised $20M in funding.

The round was led by BMW I Ventures, with participation from Zebra Technologies, Japan Airlines & Translink Innovation Fund, Foothill Ventures, Menlo Ventures, ENIAC Ventures, and SignalFire. Concurrent with the closing of the round, Till Reuter, former CEO of KUKA, and David Fuller, former CTO of KUKA and current CEO of Artificial, will join Fox Robotics as independent board directors.

The company intends to use the funds to ramp up production, invest in talent, and expand globally.

Led by CEO Peter Anderson-Sprecher, Fox Robotics develops, manufactures, and sells intelligent autonomous forklift trailer unloaders to reduce forklift operating costs and to automate them. The company’s autonomous forklifts are running around the clock across dozens of customers sites today.

DHL Supply Chain, the global and North American contract logistics leader within Deutsche Post DHL Group, was Fox’s first customer and is rapidly deploying their technology across their network of warehouses.
