CommonGround Raises $25M in Funding

CommonGround

CommonGroud, a Los Altos, CA and Tel Aviv, Israel-based company building an immersive virtual meeting experience, raised $25M in funding.

The round was led by Marius Nacht, Matrix Partners, Grove Ventures, and StageOne Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth and expand operations.

Founded by serial entrepreneurs Amir Bassan-Eskenazi and Ran Oz, CommonGroud provides a platform with real-life 3D representations of users, who can restore deep personal connections. Unlike other virtual environments, CommonGround’s patented AI provides an immersive, and secure 3D experience with hyper-realistic user representations that deliver a high sense of presence and emotional connection. This allows participants to establish eye contact, communicate through nonverbal body language, and be seen as their full, true self – seated among colleagues in a virtual room, face to face, rather than being another blankly staring face in a sea of squares.

The company is now beta testing its ‘TrueSelf Scan’ creation app on the iPhone. The first 500 users to create their hyper-realistic avatar will also receive an early invitation to test the meeting app.
