Sesamy, a Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of a digital content platform, raised €3.3M in funding.

The round was led by GP Bullhound, with participation from Co_Made, Tham Invest, Brofunds, Måns Ulvestam, Karl Rosander and Hållbar.

The company intends to use the funds to accelerate growth, expand operations and its business reach.

Founded in 2021 by Måns Ulvestam (CEO), Karl Rosander, and Markus Ahlstrand, Sesamy is a global podcast company that ensures premium digital content can be accessed, and owned, without the need for subscriptions. Since its launch, Sesamy has partnered with major book publisher in Sweden and Denmark, to offer its users the option to purchase ebooks, audiobooks and podcasts as single purchases that can be consumed on any app or device.

Sesamy will now focus on building out its news vertical through partnerships with publishers to use their unique paywall technology and offer single purchases. In October 2022, the company made its first enter into news, signing partnerships with Swedish publications Breakit and Kvartal to integrate their technology. Sesamy will now continue to maintain its existing offering of ebooks, audiobooks and podcasts across its website in both Sweden and Denmark.
