Assa Abloy, a Stockholm, Sweden-based provider of access solutions, acquired Janam Technologies, a New York-based provider of handheld mobile computers and readers.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
With the acquisition, Assa Abloy will enhance HID’s event access portfolio to include handheld readers for scanning tickets using barcode and RFID technology, including NFC.
Led by CEO Harry Lerner, Janam Technologies is a provider of rugged, mobile computers and contactless access solutions. Its handheld devices deliver computing performance, barcode scanning, NFC and proven ruggedness. Janam’s solutions enable enterprises of all types and sizes to increase throughput, eliminate fraud, reduce costs and improve the customer and associate experience.
The company was founded in 2006 and has some 20 employees. Based in New York, it will be part of HID’s Identification Technologies Business Area.
