EnCharge AI, a Santa Clara, CA-based company building computers for AI at the Edge, raised $21.7M in Series A funding.

The round was led by Anzu Partners, with participation from AlleyCorp, Scout Ventures, Silicon Catalyst Angels, Schams Ventures, E14 Fund, and Alumni Ventures.

The company intends to use the funds to develop and commercialize its semiconductor hardware and software stack.

Founded by CEO Naveen Verma, along with Kailash Gopalakrishnan, Ph.D., who serves as Chief Product Officer, and Echere Iroaga, Ph.D., who serves as Chief Operating Officer, EnCharge AI is an AI hardware and software systems company for edge computing. Its scalable in-memory computing technology provides higher compute efficiency and density via an architecture coupled with software integration. These capabilities are valuable for market applications such as automotive sensing, advanced manufacturing, smart retail, smart warehouses and logistics, industrial robotics, and drones.

The company’s charge-based in-memory computing technology was originally born out of DARPA and Department of Defense funded R&D and has matured through six years of deep research and validation.
