Mad Capital, a Boulder, CO-based impact-focused lender that offers funding for organic and transitioning farmers, raised $4M in Seed funding.
The round was led by Trailhead Capital, with participation from Bonaventure Capital, Homecoming Capital, Impact Assets, One Small Planet, Pelican Ag, and Lacebark Investments, and others.
The company intends to use the funds to ramp up its operations, expand their farmer ecosystem, and transition more acres into regenerative organic farmland.
Led by Phil Taylor, and Brandon Welch, Mad Capital is a specialty finance company that provides customized, one-stop credit to regenerative organic and transitioning farmers. The company offers farmers operating, equipment, and infrastructure loans, as well as mortgages, working capital, and transitional loans.
Mad Capital manages pools of capital that offer farmers flexible and customized financing to help them grow during the organic transition period. Their inaugural fund, the Perennial Fund, combines debt funds with traditional financing to create capital stacks for their farmers to accelerate their transition.
