Triton Anchor, a Chelmsford, MA-based developer of an anchoring solution, closed its initial funding round.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
The round was led by OS Impact Investments, and supported by the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC). Competitive grants provided by the U.S. Department of Energy, National Offshore Wind Research & Development Consortium (NOWRDC), MassCEC, and the Department of the Navy have enabled the development of the technology.
The company intends to use the funds to accelerate platform development as they scale its products from prototype to general release, to expand market outreach, and grow its team.
Led by Tyson Lawrence, CEO, and Zach Miller, CTO, Triton Anchor has developed anchoring technology that solves the problems of low volume outdated and fragmented legacy anchor systems. It is a spin-off of Triton Systems, a developer of technology-based solutions for markets in energy, biotech and security.
