AlixLabs, a Lund, Sweden-based semiconductor startup, raised SEK 10M in funding.
The round was led by Navigare Ventures, Almi Invest, and the ice hockey family Nylander.
The company intends to use the funds to develop and commercialize its Atomic Layer Etching (ALE) Pitch Splitting technology (APS).
Led by CEO Jonas Sundqvist, AlixLab provides a process that splits a 40 nanometer wide feature into two 10 nanometer mid-pitch features, which can form the basis of transistors or electrical contacts and metallic interconnects. The process is scalable to smaller structures below 10 nm. It takes place with the help of energy-efficient engraving, which reduces the use of additional expensive and energy-consuming lithographic equipment.
