Maya Climate, a Berlin, Germany-based provider of a project financing platform for natural capital projects, raised €1.2M in Pre-Seed funding.
The round was led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), Antler, and the Berlin Angel Fund.
The company intends to use the funds to grow its team in Germany, specifically looking at hires for technologists and natural capital experts, launch into the market and accelerate product development.
Led by Till Tornieporth and Christian-Hauke Poensgen, Maya Climate is looking to build a Nature Tech market with its digital project financing platform for natural capital projects. Its platform digitizes project origination, risk assessment and due diligence to unlock conservation and restoration projects in the areas of forestry, agricultural land and wetlands as well as coastal ecosystems that generate revenues through carbon, biodiversity or other environmental markets.
Since their soft launch a few months ago, the company has on-boarded a series of large-scale projects, collectively raising more than $100m in project financing.
