Edgeless Systems, a Bochum, Germany-based confidential computing company, raised $5M in Seed funding.
The round was led by SquareOne with participation from angel investors including Evan Weaver, Mirko Novakovic, Paolo Negri, Mathias Biilman and Chris Back.
The company intends to use the funds to sustain its product lead, expand into the United States, add features to its Constellation platform, and build out its marketing and sales teams.
Founded in 2020 and led by CEO Felix Schuster, Edgeless Systems develops open source software for confidential computing. Constellation, which leverages confidential computing to isolate and runtime-encrypt entire Kubernetes deployments, finally allowing enterprises to use the public cloud like their private cloud, ensures that hackers, cloud admins and foreign governments cannot access any data. There system and its associated tools are already being used by hundreds of developers and DevOps engineers at companies such as Bosch, IBM and Intel, among others.
