Prana Thoracic, a Houston, TX-based medical device company, raised $3M in Series A funding.
The round was led by New World Angels, with participation from Johnson & Johnson Innovation, Texas Medical Center Venture Fund, and the University City Science Center’s Phase 1 Ventures.
The company intends to use the funds of the Series A funds and a previously announced $3M award from the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas for product development and conduction of first-in-human clinical studies.
Led by Joanna Nathan, CEO, Prana Thoracic is a medical device company dedicated to developing a minimally invasive, lung-sparing device for early intervention of suspicious pulmonary nodules.
Prana’s technology was developed on the Texas Medical Center campus, in collaboration with Precision Thoracic Corporation.
