Relai, a Zürich, Switzerland-based provider of a non-custodial bitcoin platform, raised USD4.5M in funding.
The round was led by ego death capital with participation from Timechain, Cabrit Capital, and Lightning Ventures, Redalpine, and Fulgur Ventures. As part of the round, ego death capital founding partner Andi Pitt will also join Relai’s board.
The company intends to use the funds to expand its services with zero-fee trading, upgrade to Lightning, and launch a white-label product that will allow fintech companies to offer fiat-to-bitcoin trading.
Founded by Julian Liniger (CEO) and Adem Bilican (CTO), Relai provides an app for buying and saving bitcoin. It enables anyone in Europe to buy and sell bitcoin within minutes, with no need for registration, verification or deposits. In addition, the app offers a non-custodial bitcoin wallet, giving users full control over their funds.
The company recently expanded its platform to SMEs, called Relai Business.
