TeraPore Technologies, a South San Francisco, CA-based developer of nanofiltration membrane systems for biomanufacturing, raised $10M in funding.

The round was led by Anzu Partners with participation from Entegris (NASDAQ: ENTG) and RA Capital Management. Olivier Blachier, who leads business and new market development for Entegris, will also join the TeraPore Board of Directors along with Mani Krishnan, a seasoned expert in the filtration and biotechnology sector who held leadership roles at Millipore Sigma and Pall Corporation.

The company intends to use the funds to launch its IsoBlock virus filter and expand the use of its core technology into new high value markets.

Led by CEO Dr. Rachel Dorin, TeraPore is developing bioseparation solutions that enable controllable, consistent purification processes for the manufacturing of novel therapeutics and biologics. IsoBlock virus filters leverage its Intelligent Membrane platform, which features a tunable chemical structure and uniform nanoscale pore sizes that can tackle the difficult separation challenges. The virus filters are engineered to provide superior filter productivity and viral clearance during process development, clinical trials, and production scale manufacturing.

The company is developing a family of IsoBlock filters with various properties and device sizes.
