Anamcara, a London, UK-based new early stage venture capital fund to invest in companies defining the new wave of business technologies, has launched with a $10.6M fund.
Founded in 2021 by Annelie Ajami, Anamcara aims to invest in founders building B2B companies and to form meaningful partnerships to help them achieve greatness. Ajami is joined by Operations Manager, Aakriti Singh, who was previously Assistant Manager at EY London and Grant Thornton and a strong advisory network of operators including Gary Turner, Co-Founder of Xero.
The firm writes angel-sized tickets of approximately $200K in pre-seed and seed stage B2B companies across Europe. The fund has a strong thematic focus and leverages on a strong operator advisory network with deep domain expertise to support the portfolio. This network includes world class B2B operators such as Philip Reynolds, the former VP of Engineering at Workday, Maria McMenamin, former Head of B2B Sales at Stripe and Namrata Ganatra, CTO at Autograph.
The fund has already invested in eleven companies across Europe including:
- Noloco, a no-code web app builder,
- Bits Technology: Automation layer for open finance
- Equipme: B2B commerce and service management platform
- Flexspace: Enterprise solution for on-demand workspaces
- Helvengo: A digital insurance provider for small businesses.
- Noloco: No-code/low-code platform to create internal tools, customer-facing apps and custom software around existing data.
- Nory: AI driven restaurant management platform
- Reveel: On-chain revenue management platform for creators
- Salesform: Inbound lead routing platform
- Trumpet: Sales enablement platform that allows users to create personalized, trackable B2B sales environments
- Viably: All-in-one funding, banking, and financial guidance platform for small businesses
Anamcara has co-invested alongside notable investors La Famiglia VC, Cherry Ventures, Cavalry Ventures and Salesforce Ventures.
Ajami has an extensive background in finance and venture capital. In 2011, she briefly worked at Nomura Bank in the investment banking division before joining Bedrock, an asset manager in London with over $9 billion under management. In 2016, Ajami joined B&Y Venture Partners, an early stage venture firm in the Middle East and Europe. During her time there, she founded Gaia Venture Consulting an advisory firm advising private and institutional investors on direct tech investments. Ajami is also the co-founder of the Ajami Foundation, a philanthropic organisation established to empower communities in Lebanon by supporting initiatives advancing entrepreneurship and education.
