Hammerspace, a San Mateo, CA-based company which specializes in in data orchestration of enterprise file data, acquired Rozo Systems, a San Francisco, CA-based creator of patented erasure coding technology.
The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Led by Pierre Evenou, previous Rozo Systems Founder and CEO and now Vice President, Advanced Technology at Hammerspace, Rozo is the creator of the Mojette Transform, the patented erasure coding technology, which, as part of the Hammerspace Data Orchestration System, enables users to maximize performance in any location, expand to hyperscale capacity, and adapt to virtually any workload as it spans from the edge, to data centers, and the cloud. Rozo’s performance capabilities, using industry-standard hardware, can deliver 1Tb/s+ with only eight commodity servers connected on a 200Gb/E network.
Together with the Hammerspace Data Orchestration System, this allows customers to orchestrate files directly to the compute, application, or user at peak performance, nearly saturating the capabilities of their infrastructure.
Hammerspace offers a software-defined automated data orchestration system with a set of data services to unify and manage data in a Global Data Environment across the edge, data centers and public cloud infrastructure. The company delivers a solution to connect global users with their data and applications on any vendor’s data center storage or public cloud services, including AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Seagate Lyve Cloud.
